Idaho State AFL-CIO Endorses Larry LaRocco in Idaho U.S. Senate Race
March 6, 2008
Boise, Idaho - President David Whaley announced today that the Idaho State AFL-CIO Executive Board, which represents approximately 11,000 members across Idaho, voted at their quarterly meeting held on March 1, 2008 to unanimously support former Congressman Larry LaRocco for the U.S. Senate in Idaho.
“The working families of Idaho are struggling to raise families, pay their taxes, support education, care for their aging parents and cope with the continued increase in health care costs,” said Whaley. “Larry has been working in jobs all across Idaho and has heard firsthand about the challenges they face in their lives.” When he is elected he will continue to work alongside these same families and make sure their voices are heard through his expressed support of the Employee Free Choice Act.” “We are proud to endorse him for the U.S. Senate.”
“I am very honored and deeply grateful to have received the early and strong support of the Idaho AFL-CIO,” said Larry LaRocco. “The working men and women of Idaho deserve a champion in the United States Senate, someone who is fully committed to making our economy work for everyone, not just the privileged and well-connected. When I am elected to the United States Senate I will work to ensure that Idaho’s working families are not forgotten. Their concerns will be my concerns.”
